Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

The past 12 months in Central Florida have been a challenge for us all.  We are trying to dig out of the effects of three hurricanes as our world races quickly past us.  We have the other challenges that arise as we go about our daily existence, such as health, aging, finances, family problems and on and on.

I have observed the eyes of many of my friends, especially my brothers and sisters in Christ at St. Matthew and in Cursillo, in general.  I see what I characterize as a "glazing" of their eyes.  It is a sign of having too much on our plates, a sign of exhaustion.  I feel that, as a result, too many of us are simply "existing" in their Fourth Day.  Some group reunions have stopped meeting regularly.  Many of us have not been to Ultreya in many months.  We are reluctant to get involved in anything new that would fit the categories of Piety, Study and Action.  This means that some of us have put aside what we learned on Thursday night of our Cursillo from the rector/rectora. . . that "we would be shown a way to be happy for the rest of our lives."  I am convinced that this prophetic statement in our lives is still true. . . now more than ever!  It is being put to the test.

If you feel too overwhelmed to take the time to get back to grouping. . . to go to daily Eucharist at times, . . . to read that new book that you bought, . . . to take time to sit before the Blessed Sacrament . . . to call that friend who needs someone to listen . . . you need it to do it NOW.  Holy Week is about to begin. . . what better time to begin living your Fourth Day again!  Eternal life . . . life with God . . . can happen during your Fourth Day as you come to know the Lord through Piety, Study and Action, through the Christian Community found in group reunion and ultreya. . . for it is written:

"Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ."  John 17:4.

Come join us at Ultreya at St. Matthew.  Re-establish group reunion.  Take a look at our website, http://www.stmattsultreya.com for wonderful resources available to begin living your Fourth Day.  There are all sorts of new links and events available to you!

Each of you is in our prayers.

YBIC,
Craig
